How to Remove Blood from Sheets
This stain sets quickly. Start treatment as soon as possible for the best results. The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to remove completely.
Removal Method
Rinse immediately under cold running water from the back of the fabric.
Apply hydrogen peroxide (3%) directly to the stain. It will fizz on contact with blood. Let sit 5 minutes.
Rinse with cold water. Apply liquid laundry detergent, rub gently. Wash in cold water.
Check the stain BEFORE drying. If any remains, repeat. Do not use the dryer until the stain is completely gone.
Salt paste: make a thick paste of salt and cold water. Apply to the stain, let sit 20 minutes, rinse. Works well on fresh blood stains.
- Never use warm or hot water
- Do not put in the dryer until the stain is fully removed
Enzyme pre-soak (like BioKleen Bac-Out) for 4-6 hours in cold water.
