How to Remove Coffee from Wood Table
⏱️ Time-Sensitive Stain
This stain sets quickly. Start treatment as soon as possible for the best results. The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to remove completely.
Removal Method

Wipe up immediately. Coffee stains wood quickly, especially unfinished surfaces.

For remaining stain on finished wood: apply a paste of baking soda and water. Let sit 5 minutes. Wipe with the grain.

For unfinished wood: sand lightly with fine-grit sandpaper (220 grit) in the direction of the grain. Refinish.
💡 Alternative Method
Mayonnaise applied to the stain and left for 1 hour can lift coffee from finished wood (the oils penetrate and loosen the stain).
🚫 What NOT to Do
- Do not let coffee sit on unfinished wood
- Do not use vinegar on wax-finished wood
