How to Remove Crayon from Walls
Removal Method
1
Apply a small amount of mayonnaise or WD-40 to the crayon marks. The oil dissolves the wax.
2
Let sit 5 minutes. Wipe with a clean cloth.
3
Clean the area with warm soapy water to remove the oil residue.
💡 Alternative Method
A Magic Eraser (melamine foam) dampened with water removes crayon from most painted walls. Test in a hidden spot on flat/matte paint.
🚫 What NOT to Do
- Do not scrub hard on flat paint (removes the paint)
- Do not use heat (melts crayon into the surface)
🔄 If Nothing Works
Repaint the area. Touch-up paint pens work for small marks.
