This stain sets quickly. Start treatment as soon as possible for the best results. The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to remove completely.

1

Blot up as much wet polish as possible immediately. Do not rub.

2 min
2

Apply non-acetone nail polish remover to a clean white cloth. Dab the stain from the outside in. Replace cloth sections frequently as color transfers.

10-15 min
3

Rinse by blotting with cold water. Apply dish soap solution. Blot. Blot with plain water to rinse.

5 min
💡 Alternative Method

Hair spray (the aerosol kind) sprayed on dried nail polish, then blotted with rubbing alcohol.

🚫 What NOT to Do
  • Do NOT use acetone on carpet (dissolves synthetic carpet fibers and backing)
  • Do not rub (spreads the polish)
  • Test non-acetone remover in a hidden area first
🔄 If Nothing Works
