How to Remove Nail Polish from Clothes
⏱️ Time-Sensitive Stain
This stain sets quickly. Start treatment as soon as possible for the best results. The longer you wait, the harder it becomes to remove completely.
Removal Method
1
Blot excess. Place the stained area face-down on paper towels.
2
Apply non-acetone nail polish remover to the back of the stain. Dab with a cloth. The polish transfers to the paper towels below.
3
Rinse with cold water. Pre-treat with dish soap. Wash normally.
💡 Alternative Method
Rubbing alcohol applied from the back of the stain for acetate-safe fabrics.
🚫 What NOT to Do
- Do NOT use any nail polish remover on acetate, triacetate, or modacrylic fabrics (dissolves them)
- Check fabric content before using any solvent
🔄 If Nothing Works
Dry cleaning. Specify the stain type to the cleaner.
